Receipts & expenses
Set up recurring expenses
Schedule repeated bills, choose automatic or manual recording and inspect each recorded installment.
Create a schedule
- Open Settings → Recurring Expenses or the Recurring area on Mac.
- Add a schedule and enter a name, merchant, amount, available subtotal/tax breakdown, category and job if needed.
- Choose Auto (record automatically) or Manual (record each payment yourself). Set the reminder where offered.
- Save and review the next due date.
Choose the recording mode
Manual is useful when the bill amount varies or you want to verify each payment. When due, inspect the schedule and use Record Expense or Record due installment. Auto allows the app to record due installments when it processes schedules. It is not a bank payment and is not a guarantee that a background task runs at the exact due time.
Attach evidence
Each recorded payment is saved as a recorded expense under its recurring expense. It is not a receipt, so it does not appear in Receipts. Open a recorded expense to correct its date or amount, or to attach the bill: take a photo, choose one from Photos, or upload a file. A repeating schedule does not obtain invoices from your supplier for you.
Pause, change or remove a schedule
Pause a schedule to stop further due processing while keeping its history. Edit future amounts or dates carefully and inspect the next due date. Deleting the rule keeps past recorded expenses. Deleting a recorded installment removes that expense and its evidence without rewinding the schedule’s next due date.
Free limits and duplicates
The free plan allows one recurring expense and three recorded payments. Recorded payments do not count toward the receipt limit. If the free limit blocks automatic recording, the payment stays due until it can be handled. If two devices record the same period, the first recording is counted and the later copy is left out of your tax totals until you delete it. Recorded expenses count in Tax Center and appear in your tax documents marked as recurring expenses.
