Receipts & expenses
Review and manage expenses
Edit receipt details, split personal items, reassign jobs, search records and share evidence.
Find a receipt
- Open Receipts. Use search to find the merchant or other searchable receipt details.
- Check the tax-year and country scope if a receipt is missing. Use Assigned, Unassigned or Needs Review filters where offered.
- Select a receipt to open its image, items, amounts, payment details, assigned job and notes.
Correct the record
- Use the relevant edit control for the merchant/date, amounts, items, payment or notes. On Mac, these controls appear in the detail panels.
- Compare each edit with the receipt image. Correct quantities and prices together with totals when necessary.
- Choose a suitable expense category and available tax detail. Read any verification notice and resolve missing or inconsistent amounts.
- Save the edit, then recheck the business total and the assigned job.
Handle mixed business and personal purchases
Mark personal line items as personal so they are not included in the business share. Review the receipt’s business share after changing items: it can affect business subtotal, tax and total shown in reports. An overall business flag and individual item classifications should reflect the same purchase. Missing item detail can limit how precisely a mixed receipt can be split.
Assign or change a job
Open the receipt’s Job section and choose a compatible job, or leave it unassigned. The app checks country and date compatibility. If a job is not listed, check its country and schedule rather than changing the receipt’s true purchase date just to force an assignment. Shared overhead can be recorded outside a customer job.
View, share and delete evidence
Open the receipt photo to inspect it at full size. Use the sharing or download options available on your device to send or save evidence. Keep track of where you send financial documents. Deleting a receipt removes the record and changes expense totals; read the confirmation before proceeding. Deleting a line item also changes the business split and may require amount review.
A tax category is a reporting suggestion. Review eligibility with your accountant; assigning a category does not establish that an expense is deductible.
